Practical Solutions for everyday problems faced by Unit4 software users.
Implementations and enhancements, data migration and knowledge transfer.
Implementations and enhancements, data migration and knowledge transfer.
Listening to customer's requirements and understanding the issues faced by the users is key to a well built solution.
Whistles & bells only add value if the nuts and bolts are tightened properly.
Getting the construct of the data right at the start is essential for quality of reporting.
Start at the end, understand what outputs are required then decide on the inputs.
Building an effective solution that incorporates the clients requirements from both a functionality and data perspective,
A brilliant solution is only effective if the users know how to use it and the Admin team know how to maintain it. Great knowledge transfer and comprehensive documentation is critical to running the system post go live.
A solution should be tested not only that it works but it works for you and does what you want. The more testing is done the smoother the go-live, its a fact!
Map the data from the legacy system properly reconciling data back to source. Create a data migration strategy and plan accordingly. Run test migrations at each testing stage to ensure live migration is slick. Understand all of the requisite checks and balances to ensure robustness and validity of migrated data.
Hello my name is Graeme and I am an independent Unit4 ERP Functional consultant.
My Unit4 ERP journey began back in the late 90's when I worked for AEA Technology which was the privatised arm of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA).
They had selected Agresso, as it was known then, and still is by some, and I was invited to be a member of the team on this very exciting project.
We had a great project team with great team spirit and we all pulled in the same direction, and I found I liked this type of work. We went live on 1st April 1999 on version 5.2.1
In 2006 when Trader Media Group (Autotrader) had selected Agresso as their new finance system, they recruited me as their internal SME responsible for the implementation.
This project was part of a wider finance transformation project during which we migrated all of the Autotrader sites from various software packages onto a shared Agresso platform and created a shared service centre and centralised all of the finance functions. We also accommodated a few subsidiary organisations on the same platform.
In 2013 I joined Highpoint Services as a consultant. We were a boutique consultancy bureau and as such the consultants were pretty much responsible for all aspects of the implementation. I implemented Business World, as it was known then, into several Further Education colleges, a Fire Service and a Public School to name a few.
In 2019 I joined Embridge who are a very impressive organisation to work for and work with. Embridge have people who major in specific areas. I was responsible for implementing Unit4 ERP into district and borough councils, a shared services organisation and a worldwide charity.
Now I am an independent Unit4 ERP Functional consultant.
My experience as a user and a customer gives me the knowledge of business processes employed, and an understanding of the challenges faced by businesses, not least the speed of change and having to be able to adapt quickly.
My experience as a consultant has equipped me with the skills to enable me to offer real solutions to meet my customers requirements. I have a broad skill set across the finance function.
I have done many data migrations using both Unit4 Batch Input and GCON4 tools and understand all the checks and balances that need to be performed to ensure valid and robust data.
Lastly, I have relationships with, and access to all the right people to call on should your requirements also include need for an additional skill set.
I can provide a full C.V. on request.
I look forward to working with you.
